A Proper Mindset Is The Key To Getting Medical Coding Jobs In Tough Economic Times

It is a fact that medical coding jobs are still in great demand and will be for many years to come. Turn on the television or read the newspaper and all you hear are things like the world is in a global recession, job are reaching their lowest rates in years, mortgage foreclosures are reaching record levels – a common theme of doom and gloom.

How about the segments that show a family in Alabama or Louisiana who recently lost their home and are living on the street and lining up for food stamps? This may all be true, however, news is meant to capture our interest and play on our emotions. It manipulates the thinking masses and destroys confidence in the individual as well as the economy.

A job seeker must disregard as much of this information as possible and identify and focus on sectors which are currently in demand, show strong growth, and provide long-term security. The healthcare industry and more specifically medical coding jobs possess these attributes and provide tremendous current and future opportunities. A great option for anyone currently unemployed or looking for a solid long-term career.

Yes times are tough and it may be more difficult to find that perfect job, however, economic circumstances are cyclical – things will get better and easier. For now it is important to focus on what you control. Of course you cannot change decisions made in Washington or China, but you can change your thinking by setting a plan to obtain medical coding jobs.

People get sick and will likely become sicker as they succumb to the stress, anxiety, depression which results from tough economic times. The Law of Polarity states that for every negative circumstance there is a positive circumstance of equal magnitude. Fortunately or unfortunately, whichever way you view it, a bad economy creates dynamic opportunities in the medical healthcare industry, and in particular in medical coding jobs.

Finding a job is a job in itself and requires planning, focus, commitment, and persistence. Here is a short and simple strategy to get you back on track and focus on finding and getting that job as a medical coder:

1. Try to avoid television newscasts and newspapers for 1 month. You will likely recognize how much time you have wasted and begin to think more positively.

2. Perform a thorough and honest skills inventory of yourself identifying your strengths and areas requiring improvement. Do not limit this to job specific skills. Look at your personality type, problem solving ability, creativity, and so on.

3. Prepare a resume or have a profession prepare it for you. Make it look clean, neat, and professional with absolutely no spelling or grammatical errors.

4. Prepare a loosely structured covering letter which can be tailored to the company and position applying for.

5. Allocate a minimum of 3 hours and a maximum 5 hours, five days per week entirely for the purpose of job hunting activities.

6. Set up a written weekly plan and always know exactly what you are going to do the next day prior to going to bed the night before.

7. Keep activities interesting by searching and submitting to online job boards job boards, making telephone calls to clinics, hospitals, and medical practices, and actually knocking on doors.

8. Disregard the “No Telephone calls please” requests. Ensure you follow up a day or two after you submit a resume by email or telephone call. This demonstrates eagerness and initiative.

9. Keep an accurate log or journal including such as date submitted, contact name, direct lines, email addresses, and details of any follow-up conversations. This information can be useful even after you secure a position.

10. Be persistent and don’t give up. Develop a mindset where every no, means a yes is coming soon.

In summary, the purpose of this article is to point out that medical coding jobs are more prevalent than ever. Doctors, medical facilities, and medical practices place high value competent medical coders, and are in dire need of their services. Do not let your current circumstances or so-called newsworthy events bring you down. Step out of your comfort zone, put in place a job searching plan, and go for it!

Offshore Web Design and Development – Use Great Opportunities

Sooner or later every small or medium business owner realizes that he needs a web site for his business. And almost everybody wants to have great web site for affordable price because usually web site design budget is quite limited.

There are few ways to find the best solution.

Somebody prefers to design the site by himself – but it takes much time and labor, distracts from the general business, and let be frank – you have seen many of such “DIY” – web sites -they lack professional touch and look unfinished or overworked.
Somebody decides to hire a professional web design company but in case of limited budget he has to say “good-buy” to many features he wants to see on the web site, because web design companies are also businesses and they can’t work for “thank you very much” only.

So what to do when you want to have great web site but your web design budget is limited?

Think about IT-outsourcing and offshore web design and development!

There are many web design companies in other countries, mostly of Eastern Europe and East-Southern Asia that operate with small budgets and offer great web design works

How it is possible? There are different economical factors which condition on low internal expenses of the companies in these countries so they can do the same volume of work but for lower price than it costs in USA, Canada, UK, Western Europe or Australia. So offshore web site design and development helps to keep prices at least 3-5 times less.

You can say “Yes, this is cool that I can save my money but how they will do the work if I am here in USA but they are in Ukraine, for example?” Easily! In our age of Internet this is not a problem at all! Practice proves that for web site design project it’s enough to have communication through email, instant messenger (ICQ, AOL, MSN) or IP-phone.

You can say “How can I trust somebody whom I have never seen before and most likely will not ever see?” Actually this question must the web design companies ask, not you, because there are many of IT-outsourcing companies and competition is quite strong in this area, so to get a customer many companies allow the first payment after 30-50% of the project completion, i.e. you pay after you have seen good results and satisfied with the work.

And as in onshore web design you need to pay much attention while choosing web design company: look at their previous works in portfolio, and ask about previous customers’ references. Ideally all this information must be accessible on the company’s web site.

As for the rest there is not much difference between offshore and onshore web site design process. You see the results of work in the progress, make your comments, see changes, agree them. When the project is complete and the site is ready to be uploaded to your server, you make final payment. It’s also not a problem – you can make payment by credit card, PayPal, wire transfer, Western Union, etc.

So let’s resume what you must know when dealing with offshore web site design:

If you are on “tight budget” and can’t afford spending thousands of $$$ for your web site design you should think about trying offshore web site design opportunities.
There are many countries, which take part in offshore web site design; the most well known are India, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Philippines.
To make right choice of offshore web design company for your web site design take into consideration the company reputation, portfolio of previous works, previous customers’ references, quick and competent feedback to your initial request.
To avoid problems you must be attentive and ask exact questions about payment policy and method, timescale and milestones of the project, conditions of the ready site delivery, warranties, post-development support and maintenance.

At your first experience with offshore web design you can see it to be too risky and complicated, but this feeling will be replaced with real satisfaction when you will see your new great web site live in the Internet and you realize how much you have saved on its design.

MoS2 Low Friction Coatings – Not Just For The Aviation Industry Anymore

MoS2 low friction coatings (also known as molybdenum disulfide, also spelled, disulphide) are regarded the most widely used form of solid film lubrication today. What makes them unique (with the other dichalcogenides) is the weak atomic interaction (Van der Waals) of the sulfide anions, while covalent bonds within molybdenum are strong. Thus, lubrication relies on slippage along the sulfur atoms. All the properties of the lamella structure are intrinsic. No external form of moisture is required. In fact, best performance from MoS2 low friction coatings is attained in the absence of water vapor, which are prone to surface adsorption. This makes them ideal under vacuum. There are a number of methods to apply MoS2 low friction coatings, including a simple rubbing or burnishing, air-spraying resin-bonded or inorganically bonded coatings, and more recently by sputtering through physical vapor deposition (PVD).Thickness will vary, depending on form of MoS2 low friction coatings, but typically ranges between 5 to 15 micrometer. Sputtering techniques can produce thin films of 0.2 micrometer. While plasma sprays will result in higher builds, beginning at 0.003 inch or more.Friction coefficient less than 0.05 is attainable, but will also vary with humidity and sliding conditions. Tests show friction decreases with increasing vacuum strength. Friction also lowers with higher load, faster surface speed, or both. In fact, MoS2 low friction coatings are superior to both graphite and tungsten disulfide (WS2). Friction with MoS2 low friction coatings is independent of particle size, though the larger particles can carry more load.Dry lubrication for MoS2 low friction coatings remains superior at higher temperatures, with oxidation rates remaining relatively low at temperatures up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. And in dry, oxygen-free atmospheres, lubricating performance, even with oxidation products, is stable to 1300 degrees Fahrenheit.Higher air flow can affect oxidation kinetic rates in atmosphere. Molybdenum oxide products (MoO3) and sulfur dioxide. Since MoO3 alone offers dry lubrication, based on its relative softness, molybdenum disulfide coating are ideal in higher temperature environments. At higher temperatures, though, they are better suited under vacuum. In atmosphere, they are prone to water adsorption from air based on their hygroscopic properties. As with the other dry film lubricants, while differences may prove negligible, you will have to determine which is better for you: longer wear life or better performance, using MoS2 low friction coatings. Generally, friction will be slightly higher by coating both surfaces, rather than coating one surface only. But wear life will increase coating both surfaces.Friction can be good in so many areas of life. Without it we could not easily stop and start our motion, or change direction. But in moving machinery, friction causes considerable loss of energy, poorer performance, not to mention limiting wear life.As with many non-lubricated systems, the static coefficient of friction is higher than the dynamic coefficient of friction. The resultant motion is often referred to as ‘stick-slip’. Basically, the two surfaces stick together until the elastic energy within the system has accumulated to some threshold, where a sudden, forward slip takes place. Under magnification, it’s apparent the union of two surfaces is often limited to intimate contact only at the tips of a few of the asperities (small scale, surface irregularities). At these point areas, pressures relating to contact may be near the hardness of the softer material. Thus, plastic deformation occurs on some localized scale. This is known as cold welding. Where bonded junctions are formed between two materials. For lubrication to occur, these bonds, this adhesive component of friction, must be broken. And this is where products like MoS2 low friction coatings serve well. So, where are these products used today? Consider aerospace, automotive, marine and electronic, for starters. There, you’ll find MoS2 low friction coatings, again and again.
